The latest instalment of all new opera Beasts of the Blackwood has just been uploaded over at SoundCloud.
I'm pleased to unveil the music which, at this time, is destined to be the finale of the work as a whole. I've still got a fair way to go to fill in the opera from scene one to this grand orchestral postlude, but now at around 45 minutes the finish line is looking closer than ever!

The music starts with the death of Cora, and her ascension from the mortal plain. Her limp body in the arms of Diana, now revealed to be her mother. At first she is in a frozen state of incomprehension, but her grief is soon channelled to anger.
The scene dissolves into chaos with a stampede of beasts while the world crumbles into disharmony, hate and war.
